Jenn and Tyler | Granby Ranch Summer Wedding

Jenn and Tyler's wedding started off a bit different for me seeing as I had never met them before....I always meet a bride and groom somehow before the big day!! We had chatted on the phone (they live out of town now) and gotten to know each other a little that way, but actually seeing each other, their wedding was the first day.

I walked in to meet Jenn and she was so chill and relaxed as she was getting ready, hair all done besides a large roller in her bangs. That roller only came out when she started reading the vows from Tyler that they exchanged before their first look. We then took off to head up the mountain on Granby Ranch. Once we got to the top, Tyler and Jenn had their first look surrounded by a bunch of Aspens. That's when the clouds rolled in.

After their first look and a bunch of bridal party and family pictures, it was time for Jenn and Tyler to get married at the top of the mountain. Colorado had a different plan. At the top of the mountain, we looked around and we were completely surrounded by a storm. The lift was shut down so all of the guests were down at the base and all of Jenn and Tyler's family and bridal party were at the top. After some time passed, it was clear that they weren't going to be able to get the guests up to the top of the mountain. So, instead of busing everyone down from the top to get married at the base, Jenn and Tyler had a small ceremony with just their close friends and family overlooking some breathtaking mountains.

Once they said their first set of I Dos, the amazing staff at Granby Ranch opened the lift just for Jenn and Tyler to ride down. At the the bottom of the lift, they were welcomed by a large group of loved ones cheering. We then went inside and they exchanged vows again and said their second set of I Dos, surrounded by ALL of their friends and family this time.

The Duncans had one of the most wonderfully unique wedding days. While it seemingly didn't turn out how they planned, it happened to turn out even better. Congrats again to the Duncans on their beautiful wedding and a lifetime of excitement and love!!

Brooke and Clay | Steamboat Springs Summer Wedding

During the summer in college, I worked at Fossil Trace Golf Course as a cart girl/server/banquet server/burrito eater. Along with awesomely delicious burritos (I'm telling you, I could have eaten one every single day) I got to work with some pretty great people, which included Brooke. We stocked carts, rolled silverware and set up chairs and tables together then, and spent her wedding day together last summer..

Getting married in a mountain town is almost every Colorado girl's dream And, in my humble opinion, Steamboat is one of the best ones. Brooke and Clay spend lots of time together in Steamboat so it only made sense for these two Colorado natives to tie the knot there. Their first look was the icing on the cake. Clay and I took the gondola up on the mountain and waited for Brooke to do their first look. It felt a bit like we were on the top of the world. After their first look, we traveled on down the mountain and Brooke and Clay got married outside of the Steamboat Grand hotel. These two spent the rest of the night laughing and dancing. Congrats to you both!! Marriage is already looking so wonderful on you!!

Brooke and Clay's engagement session can be seen here :)

Lauren & Joe | Mount Princeton Summer Wedding

Before I changed my business name and created a brand spankin' new website, I blogged two gorgeous weddings from last summer. It's shocking to me that I was that on top of things!! But, now that I have this new website, I feel like these weddings still need to make it on the blog... they are too wonderful not to!!

So, Joe and Lauren and their beautiful Mount Princeton wedding are up again! I spoke a bit about them in their engagement session blog (check it out here) and talked them up telling you how wonderful they are. Their wedding was just about as awesome as they are. I showed up to start taking pictures of them getting ready and they were both so laid back. I think I even had to wait for Joe to get back from a run to get started on his pics!!

To roll along with the laid back and special feeling of their day, Joe and Lauren shared their first look on a bridge just the two of them (and two sneaky photographers.) They shared this special moment together before they walked down the aisle and married each other in front of their family and friends. Their ceremony was extra special as their mutual friend acted as their officiant. I love special touches like that! How fun to be the one to marry a couple of your best friends!!! Finally, it was time for them to celebrate their amazing marriage!! And celebrate they did!! Including a pretty epic dip and flip!! Congrats again Mr. and Mrs. Thompson!! I love reliving your day when I look at your pictures. Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of it!!

Rachel & Matt | Engagement Session | Northern Colorado

Rachel and I used to go to school in neighboring towns, ate the same favorite restaurants and hung out the same favorite places. It was until college that we finally met each other. Rachel and I both played on the basketball team together at Colorado School of Mines and then became roommates which led to becoming great friends ---- Insert funny team picture found on Facebook----

After college, Rachel moved to Michigan for a job and there she found Matt!! They fell madly in love and took their story to Seattle!! Down the road a bit, I got a random Facebook message from Matt, starting a dialogue on ideas to propose to Rachel. We brainstormed a bit and then ... crickets!!! I swear for a few weeks, every time my phone went off, I just knew it was Rachel, telling me Matt proposed, but I was wrong. It wasn't until a few months later I got the text! I was so dang happy for them and was so excited that I was going to be a part of their big day!!

I hadn't met Matt before this engagement session. They flew into Colorado to see Rach's family and I was lucky enough to meet up with them, meet Matt, take some pictures and have some drinks!! Of course, in true Colorado fashion, we met up for the pictures and it started raining and wind started blowing like CRAZY... made for a fun and exciting session!! These two are seriously a couple of my favorite people ever!! I can't wait to share their beautiful (I mean EXTREMELY beautiful) Leavenworth, WA wedding!!!
