Sam & Garrett | Lookout Mountain Engagement Session

A long time ago (like 13-15 years ago) I started playing club basketball with a pretty cool girl from Windsor, Colorado. We became great friends, have stayed in touch and still see each other every now and then. One day, I was hanging out with Brittany (the awesome friend) and I met this amazing and beautiful girl, Sam. Sam was introduced to me as Garrett's girlfriend... Garrett being Brittany's little (but actually really tall) brother. I immediately liked Sam. She is one of those people that always seems happy and that happiness is infectious. Such an easy person to be around and be friends with, the perfect person for Garrett seeing as Garrett is also such a kind and happy person.

What's your favorite thing about your fiance?:

"How she treats people, she is so kind to others even when she doesn't know them and she makes me want to become a better person."

"He makes me laugh and that he tells me he loves me everyday no matter what."

Just like in any love story, these two seem perfectly made for each other. So, it seemed fitting that th0ier proposal story was nothing short of romantic and sweet:

"Christmas morning he took me to the Rock in Castle rock and had decorated a tree to look like a Christmas tree and had an "S" ornament on it. He told me that I was the love of his life and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!! Two of our friends were hiding and taking pictures of us which was so special to have that moment captured!  It was soooo cold and I was so stubborn about going on the walk to get to the special spot, he even had to carry me part way. I was still in my pajamas and had put on one of his Carhartt beanies. So even though it was not my best looking day I am sure it was one of the best days of my life!
We went back to my parents house and announced to my family the awesome news and the day after went to tell his family!"

Sam and Garrett have since been married and I have been working on their images like CRAZY (I have soooo many favorites.) So I figured I should probably share their beautiful Lookout Mountain Engagement Session before I finish and share images from their gorgeous Castle Rock Wedding!

Jenn and Tyler | Granby Ranch Summer Wedding

Jenn and Tyler's wedding started off a bit different for me seeing as I had never met them before....I always meet a bride and groom somehow before the big day!! We had chatted on the phone (they live out of town now) and gotten to know each other a little that way, but actually seeing each other, their wedding was the first day.

I walked in to meet Jenn and she was so chill and relaxed as she was getting ready, hair all done besides a large roller in her bangs. That roller only came out when she started reading the vows from Tyler that they exchanged before their first look. We then took off to head up the mountain on Granby Ranch. Once we got to the top, Tyler and Jenn had their first look surrounded by a bunch of Aspens. That's when the clouds rolled in.

After their first look and a bunch of bridal party and family pictures, it was time for Jenn and Tyler to get married at the top of the mountain. Colorado had a different plan. At the top of the mountain, we looked around and we were completely surrounded by a storm. The lift was shut down so all of the guests were down at the base and all of Jenn and Tyler's family and bridal party were at the top. After some time passed, it was clear that they weren't going to be able to get the guests up to the top of the mountain. So, instead of busing everyone down from the top to get married at the base, Jenn and Tyler had a small ceremony with just their close friends and family overlooking some breathtaking mountains.

Once they said their first set of I Dos, the amazing staff at Granby Ranch opened the lift just for Jenn and Tyler to ride down. At the the bottom of the lift, they were welcomed by a large group of loved ones cheering. We then went inside and they exchanged vows again and said their second set of I Dos, surrounded by ALL of their friends and family this time.

The Duncans had one of the most wonderfully unique wedding days. While it seemingly didn't turn out how they planned, it happened to turn out even better. Congrats again to the Duncans on their beautiful wedding and a lifetime of excitement and love!!

Marquette & Will | Downtown Denver Engagement Session | Denver, Colorado

There are difficult people in this world... and then there's people like Marquette and Will. Two of the most laid back and amazingly nice people you will ever meet. Marquette found me scrolling through Instagram and I'm SO thankful that she did. From day one, email one, word one, these two have been a photographers dream. So cooperative, so joyful, so in love and ... they have the CUTEST little boy (who didn't join us for the E-session but was for sure at the wedding in his tiny little suit)

They, like a few before, also opted for a Downtown Denver chilly engagement session which was so fun and different than their Steamboat wedding.  I got a chance to meet them and see just how happy and truly easy going they really are!! Enjoy and check back soon for their wedding to be on the blog soon :)

Lauren & Joe | Denver Engagement Session | Downtown Denver

I first met Lauren when she was a Bridesmaid in The Amazing Magee Wedding in 2015 (WHOA! I can't believe it was almost two years ago) I was so thrilled when I got an email from her later on that year asking me to be a part of her and Joe's  wedding at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. Of course I jumped on that opportunity because these two are so dang cool and we started planning their Engagement session immediately.

Joe and Lauren are the type of couple that you just want to be friends with. They are so cool and down to earth and make spending time with them so easy! Because their wedding was going to be outside and in the mountains, which is kind of their jam, they opted for a more urban setting to be a bit different and chose to do the shoot Downtown. We met at Union Station and were lucky enough to sneak upstairs and then went on a bit of a stroll around Downtown. It was so fun hanging out with them and only made me that much more excited for their big day... which, SURPRISE... will be coming up soon on the blog :) Until then, enjoy a few shots from Joe and Lauren's Downtown Denver Engagement session!!
